The pods and seeds of the Moringa tree protect cells from oxidation damage. According to the Journal of Herbal Medicine published by Kumar, Singh and Vasisht (2007), the seeds/pods carry properties against action of free radicals that cause cancer and other damage.

Low levels of vitamin E and D are associated with a higher risk of diabetes. Moringa has been used for centuries by healers in India to treat diabetes. Significant increase was found in deep tissue antioxidant parameters leading to lower lipid peroxidation in a Batan Island, Phillipines study including life-style related disease and illness as well as the circulatory system.
